About the Budapest Zoo
The Budapest Zoo is home of many different animals which range from small spider to elephants. The biggest attraction in the Budapest Zoo is probably the tiger where you can find the most people trying to get a good shot. But also the elephants, the lions and the polar bear are very attractive. Though you would not recognize the zoo from outside it is a very large area and holds really a large variety of animals. It is located in the recreation where you can also find the Szechenyi bath, the Budapest Circus and the city park.
A visit in the zoo is a great idea for a day excursion if you have kids but also for adults alone it is very interesting to have a look. A highlight is for sure the feeding of different animals such as the seals which is a big show. Another great thing is that you can actually stroke different animals such as the giraffes, the camels or in the dedicated stroking area where you find mainly goats.
Depending on the time of the year the zoo is open differently. Every day the zoo opens at 9:00. In summertime the zoo closes around 19.00 and in the winter time at 16.00 but keep in mind that the cashier closes 1 hour before closing time.
